Legislation and the National Quality Framework

NOTE to users of these resources

These resources were developed for the NSW Department of Education’s Early Childhood Education and Care Sector Development Program and delivered between January to June 2016.  In February 2017, the Commonwealth, State and Territory education ministers announced changes to the National Quality Framework (NQF) including a reduction in the number of Standards and Elements under the National Quality Standard (NQS). More information on the changes to the NQF is available here.

While the principles and approaches contained in these resources remain valid, users should be aware that, as of 1 October 2017, precise references to NQS Standards and Elements will no longer be correct.

This project assists Community Preschools and Long Day Care services meet their regulatory obligations and improve their quality assessment and rating result, by strengthening approaches to compliance with National Law and the National Regulations and self-assessment against the National Quality Standard.
